Fraunhofer Plans New Facility for Selective Electron-Beam Melting
July 5, 2016CommentsThe Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials announced plans to build a center for Selective Electron Beam Melting (SEBM) in Dresden, Germany, within the next two years. The institute also announced plans to acquire a model Q20plus SEBM machine from Swedish manufacturer Arcam. The machine reportedly features the largest build volume currently available with SEBM—it can print parts with a maximum diameter of 350 mm and height of 380 mm; www.arcam.com/technology/products/arcam-q20/.
