Metal-Alloy Supplier Expands Capabilities
November 1, 2008Comments Rolled Alloys, Temperance, MI, acquired Clama Trade, Melegnano (Milan), Italy. Clama Trade supplies corrosion-resistant and high-temperature-service nickel-based alloys and duplex stainless steels as plate, sheet, bar, flanges, fittings and welding materials.
Rolled Alloys also has installed a 3⁄8 by 72-in. cut-to-length line from Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, IL. The line includes an in-line coil-stage and load system, dual stub uncoiler and peeler breaker designed to break the leading edge of heavy-gauge material. A shear-mounted drop stacker with an automatically lowering stack table helps ensure mark-free processing.
In addition, the company expanded its inventory of 2507 duplex-stainless-steel offerings by adding 11- and 12-gauge sheet to its existing inventory of plate and welding consumables. The alloy—25 Cr-7 Ni-4 Mo—offers good strength (80,000-psi minimum yield strength) and corrosion resistance. It’s ideal for air-pollution-control equipment and for seawater applications.
Rolled Alloys, a supplier of heat- and corrosion-resistant alloys and titanium-alloy products, operates several U.S. facilities as well as facilities in Canada, China, Japan and throughout Europe.
