April 19, 2022Comments
Okay Industries, New Britain, CT, a contract manufacturer of
components and subassemblies for global medical-device OEMs, has added plastic
molding and insert molding to its resume of custom manufacturing capabilities. The
firm has invested in horizontal and rotary vertical molding machines, as well
as additional automation systems, inspection equipment and advanced quality-control
technologies. The vertical integration of plastic molding and insert molding aims
to improve quality control, reduce supply-chain risks and support cost-control
initiatives.
Okay’s insert and two-shot insert molding production capabilities, combined with multi-cavity and small shot molding, allow for efficient production of medical and surgical components that require tight tolerances and intricate part geometries, reducing secondary operations, increasing flexibility of design, and allowing for an increased variety of shapes, styles and options.
