The Fischerscope X-Ray XAN 500, a new, lightweight x-ray fluorescence instrument from Fischer Technology Inc. provides coating-thickness measurement and material analysis of alloys. Ideal for quality, incoming inspection and process control of electroplated, multilayer and alloy coatings, it can be used as a handheld device, a fully enclosed desktop unit or integrated directly into production lines.
Its small size helps with measuring on difficult geometries such as large irregularly shaped parts or in offline locations. With its excellent accuracy and long-term stability, according to company officials, the need for time-intensive and costly recalibration is reduced.
