Saint-Gobain Abrasives, Worcester, MA, debuts Norton Vortex rapid-preparation belts and other new products. The proprietary agglomerate grain of Vortex rapid-prep reportedly increases belt life as much as three times that of aluminum-oxide grain and reduces two to five grit sequences in blending operations, substantially reducing labor and material costs. In addition, these belts incorporate proprietary Clean Bond resin technology for smooth, smear-free finishes, eliminating rework process steps and improving productivity.
