Solar Atmospheres of Michigan Adds New Air-Tempering and Cryogenic Equipment
May 30, 2025Comments
Vacuum heat treater Solar Atmospheres of Michigan Inc. has installed new, advanced air-tempering and cryogenic equipment at its facility in Chesterfield, MI. The equipment includes a 6 ft.-6 in. wide by 4 ft. tall by 14 ft. long car-bottom air furnace, designed and manufactured by Heat Treat Equipment Inc. With a weight capacity of 30,000 lb. and temperature uniformity within ±10 F across a temperature range of 300 to 1400 F, the furnace is ideal for processing large, heavy components that require precise temperature control.
Also joining the lineup is a DMP Cryo/Temper Systems unit, offering a 42 in. wide by 60 in. deep by 36 in. tall hot/cold zone. The system achieves temperature uniformity within ±10 F across a critical range of -300 to 1200 F, supporting both cryogenic treatment and high-temperature tempering in one integrated solution.
The two units are the first of several new-equipment investments planned for the 50,000-sq.-ft. facility, which features 12 existing production vacuum furnaces.
