Solar Atmospheres Orders 12-ft. Vacuum Furnace
April 12, 2019Solar Atmospheres, a Souderton, PA-based heat treating company, announced plans to add a new 12-ft. long car-bottom vacuum furnace with advanced pumping system and rapid cooling capability at its Greenville, SC, facility.
The 144-in .deep by 54-in. wide by 54-in. high horizontal vacuum furnace, capable of processing up to 50,000 lb. loads and made by sister company Solar Manufacturing, is scheduled for an early 2020 installation. With a vacuum pumping system capable of achieving a vacuum of 1x10-6 Torr, crucial to the processing of titanium and other high grade alloys, the furnace will apply newly developed designs for the uniform and rapid cooling of large workloads.
