Primer Provides Extended Corrosion Protection

A patented polyurethane primer, Spectracron AdvantEdge HPP, from PPG, can be used in heavy-duty equipment, general finishing and transportation applications. It provides extended corrosion protection, enhanced performance on sharp laser-cut edges, and superior chip resistance, according to company officials.

Formulated without heavy metals, the primer provides a more sustainable solution for achieving superior corrosion resistance and sharp-edge performance. A wide application window, compatibility with common topcoat hardeners and shorter wet-on-wet application times enable applicators to increase process efficiency.

It works with an array of pretreatment systems and delivers corrosion protection on many different substrates, helping to ensure consistent end-product quality despite variation in surfaces and surface prep.
