Next-Gen E-Coating Comes to MetoKote Facility in Ohio
June 1, 2014Comments
PPG Industries, Pittsburgh, PA, announced that its new Powercron Epic electrocoating process will soon make its North American debut at the MetoKote facility in Lima, OH. The process produces coatings that cure at temperatures as low as 320 F, compared to traditional cationic-epoxy coatings that cure at 350-375 F. Curing at a lower temperature reduces energy costs and related carbon emissions, and enables more uniform film builds on complex parts, say PPG officials. Further, Powercron Epic coatings are free of tin, bismuth and other heavy-metal-based compounds.
