Robotic Laser-Cutting Head

Laser Mechanisms Inc. will display at FABTECH 2023 its FiberCut STa fiber-laser cutting head, engineered for 3D robotic cutting of sheet metal from 0.5 to 20+ mm thick.  The compact, low-mass head minimizes inertia transfer to the robot support arm, say company officials, and offers automatic focus-position adjustment to provide precise cutting in materials with varying thickness. With all wiring and assist-gas lines located internally, the potential for costly downtime due to snags and breaks is virtually eliminated. The head works with all leading fiber-delivered laser systems rated to 6 kW.
