BTD Manufacturing Adds Two 10-kW Mitsubishi Laser-Cutting Machines
January 6, 2022Comments
Custom metal fabricator BTD Manufacturing, Detroit Lakes, MN, has added two 10-kW fiber-laser cutting machines to its facilities—one each at its plants in Dawsonville, GA, and Washington, IL. Both machines are Mitsubishi 3015 GX-F models featuring automatic pallet changers and boasting sheet capacity to 5 by 10 ft. and 2100 lb. The machines can cut mild and stainless steel to 1 in. thick, and aluminum sheet and plate to 7/8 in.
Other machine features include an auto zoom head that automatically adjusts the beam size according to material type and thickness, which reportedly can significantly reduce setup time while ensuring stable processing and consistent quality. In addition, the machine’s automatic nozzle changer can sense cutting-nozzle wear and automatically replace it, minimizing maintenance-related downtime.
