Arizona Fabricator Earns Military-Vehicle Armor-Kit Contract

LAI International, Inc., Scottsdale, AZ, has signed a manufacturing contract to produce armor kits for mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) military vehicles. LAI will produce the armor kits at its manufacturing facility in Westminster, MD, for its customer, Navistar Defense LLC. Navistar received a contract from the Pentagon for 4475 of its 21-ft.-long MaxxPro MRAP vehicles. LAI will ship the kits to the Navistar assembly plant in West Point, MS.

LAI operates five U.S. manufacturing plants, all ISO 9001:2000 and AS9100 certified, and offers precision laser processing, waterjet cutting, five-axis machining and other services.
