Solar Atmospheres Donates Vacuum Furnace
October 1, 2013CommentsThe teaching lab at ASM International, Materials Park, OH, is the proud owner of a new vacuum furnace, donated by Solar Atmospheres, Souderton, PA. The gift, valued at $250,000, commemorates ASM’s 100th anniversary, being celebrated in 2013. The furnace hot zone measures 12 by 12 by 18 in., and reaches 2400 F; load capacity is 250 lb. Students of the teaching lab will use it to perform tests and experiments related to heattreating, brazing and sintering.
