Minn. Service Center Upgrades Lines to Handle Thicker, Stronger Steels

Ratner Steel, Roseville, MN, has ordered a pair of stretcher levelers from Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, IL. The units will upgrade two existing processing lines—one will handle steel to 65 ksi and 0.375 in. thick, the other will process steel to 75 ksi and 0.5 in. thick. Stretcher leveling exceeds the yield point in all of the material—top to bottom and side to side—to produce flat material with no trapped internal stresses, say Red Bud officials, eliminating springback.
