Service Centers Invest in New Red Bud Blanking Lines
April 1, 2012CommentsRed Bud Industries, Red Bud, IL, announced equipment sales to Viking Materials, Minneapolis, MN, a subsidiary of Reliance Steel and Aluminum Co., and to Ryerson Inc. for its facility in Charlotte, NC. Viking installed its second Red Bud precision blanking line, capable of processing stainless steel to ¼ in. thick and aluminum and carbon steel to 0.312 in., with coil weights to 50,000 lb. Blank-length tolerance is ±0.005 in. Ordered by Ryerson is a multi-cut blanking line rated for material to 72 in. wide and ¼ in. thick, also capable of producing blanks with width and length tolerances of ±0.005 in. The line should be in place and operational by the third quarter of 2012.
