Roll-Feeder Ills Cured at Automotive Stamper
October 1, 2013CommentsWilliams-Bayer Industries, Westland, MI, a manufacturer of CNC bent tubing, catalytic converter shells, exhaust pipes and other metal stampings and assemblies, recently experienced productivity and quality issues related to its coil-processing equipment. After an evaluation by a Coe Press Equipment service team, the firm learned that the feeder’s side blocks were misaligned and that the rollers on the feeder and the straightener were in need of repair. Coe shipped the equipment back to its factory in Sterling heights, MI, where a crew ground the rollers back to spec and coated them with a new matte chrome finish. They also replaced the bearings and adjusted the side blocks to ensure true alignment of the feeder to the die.
