dallas-feed-line-manitowoc-tool-and-manufacturingManitowoc Tool & Manufacturing, Manitowoc, WI, a production metal stamping, metal fabrication, and tool and die facility, has taken delivery of a fully automated 48-in.-wide feed line from Dallas Industries.   The line features a Model DRFH-530 servo feed, a threading table over the loop, a peeler/theader/coil restrictor, a Model DPS-3.5-7-30 powered straightener, and a 20,000-lb. capacity reel with load car. To enhance setup, the unit incorporates feeder passline height, edge guides, and coil guide rolls for automatic coil centering on the uncoiler, all of which are automatically adjusted to position.  The settings for these axes are stored in the job recipe—a Dallas feature called AutoSet.

The line is built on an Allen-Bradley ethernet-based control architecture and features Dallas’s SyncLoop control that synchronizes feeder and straightener speeds to enhance loop stability and control; and ProfileSelect, a unique feed control that uses a cam-motion (sinusoidal) smooth feed profile that utilizes 100 percent of the press feed window, reducing stress on the material and the feed’s mechanical components.
