A new 3⁄8-in. capacity cut-to-length line has hit the production floor at the Nucor Corp. building-system’s facility in Brigham City, UT, and a new precision blanking line has begun production at the ArcelorMittal processing plant in Sterling Heights, MI, both courtesy of Red Bud Industries, Red Bud, IL. Nucor’s 75-in.-wide cut-to-length line produces steel sheet to 30 ft. long, from coils to 50,000 lb., for metal-building components.

ArcelorMittal’s new blanking line processes coils to 60-in. dia. and 40,000 lb., and includes a dual-motor grip-feed system, flatness inspection table and a Machine Concepts corrective leveler with AutoFlat shape correction.
