Punch-Laser Combo With Expanded Work Area
October 30, 2024Comments
Murata Machinery USA, Inc. showcased its MF30510HL combination punch press and fiber laser cutting machine. Combining turret-punch-press and fiber-laser processes, it was developed in response to requests for a machine to process larger sheet sizes than the Muratec MF3048HL. The MF30510HL features an expanded work size of 5 by 10 ft. and a punching capacity of 30 metric tons.
The combo machine streamlines operations by merging punching, laser cutting, forming, tapping, deburring and more, with its 4-kW fiber laser output enabling efficient processing of a range of sheet materials and thicknesses, according to company officials. Teaming the machine with Muratec’s automation systems, including the FG series parts-sorting system (see video), further enhances production efficiencies.
Key machine features: integrated four-station rigid tapping unit; vibration-free laser operation; retractable bottom dies to enable laser cutting and punching operations while reducing the chance of scratching and catching; and accelerated real-time monitoring and control of laser cutting operations.
