Next-Generation Software for Press-Brake Programming

CommentsSigmaTek Systems, LLC, Cincinnati, OH, a supplier of CAD/CAM nesting software, has released SigmaBend AP—press-brake programming software that incorporates the unfolding functionality of AutoPol into SigmaTek’s press-brake solution SigmaBend AP. Says SigmaNest product manager James Lindsey:  “SigmaBend AP automatically recognizes bend information stored in 2D and 3D CAD files. Users gain direct seamless access to SolidWorks and Inventor files while interfaces to NX, Pro/E, Catia and CAD-neutral file formats including IGES, STEP, SAT, and Parasolid reduce file import, unfolding and nesting steps and errors.”

Other product features include real-time 3D simulation with collision detection, along with the ability to determine levels of manual control and automation for bend sequencing, tool and setup selection, finger stop positioning and simulation.
