Wipro 3D Earns India Airworthiness Certification for Helicopter-Engine Component

A collaboration between Wipro 3D and the Engine Division of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) has yielded the airworthiness certification of an aerospace component, produced via additive manufacturing (AM), to be installed in HAL-manufactured helicopter engines. The component, a nozzle guide vane made from type A286 steel, operates in the engine hot zone. Airworthiness certification was granted by the Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification, regulatory body of the India Defence Research and Development Organization.India-based Wipro 3D provides delivers AM components in production-level volumes via expertise in design, deployment and operation of captive AM centers. It also offers AM consulting, engineering, R&D and adaption services.
