Trumpf, Siemens Partner on a Combined Metal-AM Solution
February 1, 2017With the goal of integrating part design and engineering for 3D metal printing with print preparation and build, machine manufacturer Trumpf has forged a partnership with software provider Siemens. Together the companies will provide a 3D metal-printing platform that avoids the need for data conversion. “Our partnership will result in an optimum interaction between machine and software,” says Peter Leibinger, head of the Trumpf laser technology/electronics division, “so customers can move forward with designs optimized for additive manufacturing.”
Siemens’ new NX software designed specifically for additive manufacturing will be integrated with Trumpf’s build processor and be sold with Trumpf TruPrint 3D metal-printing machines.
