Rolls the Dice with
New Facility
American Roll Form Prod- ucts, Painesville, OH, has opened a 53,200-sq.-ft. metal- fabrication plant in North Las Vegas, NV, equipped to process 200,000 lb. of material per day. The plant, which expect- ed to employ 25 people by the end of July 2013, primarily manufactures metal pilings for the solar-panel industry. Its new rolling mill features a double-ended uncoiler with 10,000-lb. coil capacity, and a five-roll straightener. The machine will accept coil widths to 24 in. and has a total of 24 forming passes, with the flexibility of adding additional forming passes. At the exit end is a three-axis part straightener and a high- speed hydraulic flying post- punch and cutoff system.

Huge Materials-Testing
Lab for Oil/Gas Industry
Amsterdam-based Ele- ment Materials Technology announced plans to relocate its Houston materials-test- ing laboratory to a new 5.3- acre site. The new 40,000- sq.-ft. main building will house core testing capabili- ties including advanced frac- ture mechanics and sour- service corrosion testing; a second 15,000-sq.-ft. build- ing will be dedicated to non- destructive testing.
Alabama Surface Treater Undertakes $10 Million Facility Renovation
Advanced Technical Fin- ishing (ATF), Huntsville, AL, plans to add 16,000 sq. ft. to its surface-treatment facili- ty to upgrade its anodizing- line equipment and install new electroless nickel lines, as well as a titanium Type II and III finishing line. In addi- tion, ATF recently renovated its 3000-sq.-ft. painting facili- ty with BR127 capabilities, with new sandblasting booths, new temperature- and humidity-controlled paint booths, walk-in curing ovens and more.
Schuler Triples Press-
Build Capacity in China
With a €16 million invest- ment, Schuler has tripled the size of its manufacturing plant in Dalian, China. Now at 16,000 sq. m, the facility manufactures presses, press lines and blanking lines for OEMs and their suppliers throughout Asia. In 2012, China accounted for about one-third of Schuler’s sales. The firm has won two Silver Supplier’s Awards from Shanghai Volkswagen.

Graebener-Reika, Inc., Reading, PA, a manufacturer of equipment for fabricating pipe, tube, plate and sheet- metal, has launched a rebuild service for upgrading pre-owned equipment. The firm will refurbish and recertify equipment at its 12,000-sq.- ft. facility, or onsite at a cus- tomer facility.
