Arku Expands Spare-Parts Warehouse
The Arku warehouse in Cincinnati, OH, has been expanded by 1200 sq. ft. to allow the firm to carry addi- tional spare-parts inventory and to expand its machine- rehab services. Also, Arku Maschinenbau GmbH is home to a new production facility Baden-Baden, Germany. Included is a 50-ton crane to allow assembly of equipment weighing as much as 150 tons.

Zhuhai, Guangdong, China is home to a new Lubrizol Corp. additives-manufacturing facility, called the “corner- stone” of the firm’s 10-yr. plan launched in 2010 to upgrade operations and increase glob- al capacity. Lubrizol additives are used in industrial lubri- cants, engine oils and other transportation-related fluids.

Stamtec 1100-Ton Press Stars in New GE Plant The ribbon has been cut
on the new GE Appliances cooking-products plant in LaFayette, GA, known as Roper Corp. The $88 million facility represents one part of GE’s $1 billion investment to revitalize its appliance divi- sion and reshore its manu- facturing operations. Partici- pants in the widely anticipated opening-day ceremonies at Roper were U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson and Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, who together cycled the new Stamtec press.

Gap Partners Inc., a preci- sion sheetmetal fabricator that has increased its work- force by more than 50 per- cent since the beginning of 2013, has cut the ribbon on a new 92,000-sq.-ft. facility in Raburn Gap, GA, to consol- idate operations from its two previous locations. The firm manufactures universal mounting brackets, control- box enclosures, cabinets and the like. Its capabilities list includes laser cutting, turret- press operations, CNC machining, press-brake bend- ing, arc and resistance weld- ing, and hardware insertion.
