Oil is Not Oil
The only truth about the saying “oil is oil” is that oils can provide lubrication. However, differences in base-oil quality, how they are refined and the additives used to enhance an oil’s ability to lubricate—when properly formulated—all play a role in how much benefit can be gained from one oil to another.

Make a Big Splash in Fluid Cost Savings!
What’s wetter? Imagine you jump in a pool, whether you take a quick dunk or float around for a while, you are equally as wet as the moment you hit the water. The same is true with metal forming. There is a point when your stock is completely lubricated, and extra fluid is waste.

Using a Unist Uni-Roller® you can expect up to 50% fluid savings. The Uni-Roller® applies a clean and consistent coating to both sides your stock. The minimum fluid coating lubricates your stock as equally as a dunk tank, using only a fraction of the fluid.
With even application the lubricant is always where it’s needed, protecting your die. Ready to experience a cleaner work environment and reduced downstream cleaning costs?
Visit unist.com to learn how advanced fluid application benefits you!

Metal Properties: Elastic Modulus
Interatomic bonds hold atoms together, and metal flow requires breaking these atomic bonds. During the metal stamping process, when a punch first contacts a sheet metal blank and prior to these bonds breaking, the forces produced move the metal atoms away from their neutral state and the blank begins to deform. At the atomic level, the applied force leads to elastic stresses that result in deformation known as elastic strain.
