supplier Matcor-Matsu invests in a transfer-system upgrade to breathe
new life into an aging big-bed press. The flexibility and expanded
motion profile of the transfer system has opened the door new business,
including customer-takeover tools.
Manufacturers are now evaluating their production processes and is considering on adding automated solutions to offset resources and maximize profitability and efficiency. For nearly two decades, MJC’s Team of innovative and experienced employees have been designing, manufacturing, and supporting advanced CNC Metal Forming Equipment as well as Robotics and Automated Solutions for customers across the globe.
Collaborative robots, simple to set up, operate and maintain, tend mechanical presses in a work cell at Processed Metal Innovators. You’ll find a cobot, too, in the company’s welding department, and expect to see more down the road.
servo presses offer the latest in direct drive motor and control
technology, combined with unique frame designs and features. The slide
motion programmability gives stampers the ability to optimize
production, work with advanced materials, reduce secondary operations,
and extend tooling maintenance intervals. Multiple servo presses are
always in stock for quick delivery.
PMA’s Metal Stamping and Tool & Die Conference has added lubrication technology to the event, produced by PMA and MetalForming magazine
in partnership with the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication
Engineers. The virtual conference will feature keynote presentations and
breakout educational sessions on stamping, tool and die, and
lubrication., and take place on four afternoons: January 26 and 28, and
February 2 and 4.
& Die Racks reduce downtime and damage to costly manufacturing
equipment by providing vertical storage capacity with high-strength
shelves engineered to handle loads exceeding 80,000 lbs. Optimize your
operations by maximizing floor space, enhancing safety and increasing
through-put with Dexco racks.
The Precision Metalforming Association Educational Foundation (PMAEF) has announced the winners of its 2020 educational scholarship program, formed in conjunction with PMA’s Tennessee, Wisconsin, West Michigan and Southeast-U.S. districts. Four students, selected based upon their experiences in academics and manufacturing, will receive $1000 scholarships to support their pursuit of careers in the metal forming industry.
… to navigate the perfect storm of die development: increased part complexity, stronger steels and compressed customer timelines.
Facing the “perfect storm” of die design and development—dramatic increases in stamped-part complexity along with compressed customer timelines—led, in 2015, the management team at 3-Dimensional Services Group to invest in new simulation software. The company now regularly calls on the software to help manage blank development, evaluate stamped-part and process feasibility, and generate and simulate alternative die-face designs.
T.J. Snow now offers an online alternative to its popular resistance welding seminars. Learning modules have been adapted to suit an online, interactive environment. Classes can be adapted to fit any company’s specific applications and needs, including content customization as well as start time and class duration. Call (423) 894-6234 for more info.
The FABTECH Mexico event partners—AWS, FMA, SME, PMA and CCAI—have announced new dates for the 2021 event. Originally scheduled for May 4-6, 2021, at the Cintermex Convention Center in Monterrey, the new dates are June 8-10, 2021, at the same venue.
SmartFlow™ enables metal formers to get smart with fluid application. With an intuitive interface, SmartFlow™ allows for simple, guided setup, advanced integration, fluid usage tracking, monitoring, and enhanced diagnostic/maintenance tools. Pair SmartFlow™ with Unist’s precision applicators for lubrication systems that eliminate wasted fluid and mess, reduce scrap, and maximize profit.
conjunction with the Women in Manufacturing Association (WiM) and the
Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), MetalForming has announced its
2020 Women of Excellence honorees, recognizing 68 outstanding women in
the metal forming and fabricating industries.
MetalForming’s 2020 Women of Excellence class, the largest yet,
includes 38 Winners and 30 Honorable Mention recipients, spanning
career fields from the shop floor to the boardroom. Each honoree has
demonstrated on-the-job excellence and a commitment to manufacturing.
Automotive Blanking Without Stamping Dies Via Laser
One area where automotive suppliers can look for cost-effective
competitive advantage: new technologies for producing body-panel blanks
for forming. Here, laser blanking can play a major role, not only in
providing flexibility in manufacturing operations, but also in cost
savings for automakers willing to have a little foresight.
Women in Manufacturing (WiM) Association is offering a virtual Human
Resources Roundtable on January 12, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
(EST). This collaborative event offers the invaluable opportunity for
attendees to network with peers and participate in discussions on key
challenging HR and training-related topics. This event is ideal for all
training and human resource directors, managers and generalists. To
