All That’s New in Hot Stamping
MetalForming magazine and the Precision Metalforming Association are proud to deliver, November 2-3, 2021, the third annual Hot Stamping Experience and Tech Tour, a one-of-a-kind event that provides a unique opportunity to dive deeply into the ever-expanding world of hot stamping. Gaining popularity among automotive OEMs and Tier suppliers, as well as other industries, hot stamping is becoming a go-to process for the production of lighter and safer vehicles, including electric vehicles. In many cases, more than a quarter of a vehicle’s body shell consists of hot-formed steels, so the need for production equipment and training shows no signs of letting up.

Pepperl+Fuchs’ Sensors for Modern Metalforming
Applying Pepperl+Fuchs products to your in-die sensing program helps prevent die crashes by detecting faults before the die closes. Overall productivity is increased, as the sensors eliminate time lost due to maintenance/repairs and bad-part sorting. Designed to withstand the pressroom environment, they monitor work pieces, holding tools, stripper plates, pilot holes, and more.

Improving Progressive-Die Performance—Part 1
A progressive die performs a series of fundamental sheet metal operations in two or more die stations with each press stroke. These simultaneous operations produce parts from a strip that moves a predetermined distance in the die at a precise time during each press stroke through use of an automated feed system. Improving progressive-die performance begins with quick coil changes and the ability to feed the strip smoothly through all of the die stations.
