Cobot-Led Laser Welding Package |
|
|
In
the Universal Robots booth at IMTS 2022, Cobot Systems displayed its
cobot laser welding package, enabling users to more easily automate
small-batch production without code programming. Centered by a Universal
Robots cobot enabling six-axis movement, the package includes a touch
display and intuitive user interface to ensure a low learning curve for
laser welding set up and use, according to Cobot Systems officials.
Included software enables welding parameters to be selected by the
cobot. |

CAD-to-Robot Software Enables Autonomous Welding |
|
|
At
IMTS 2022, Oqton showcased Oqton for Welding software that generates
welding-robot programs directly from CAD models, reportedly within
minutes. The software generates collision-free robot motions, suggests
optimal welding parameters and monitors weld quality online. This
capability makes even batch-size-one economically viable, according to
Oqton officials, while addressing the ongoing shortage of qualified
welders through the use of simplified robotic welding. And, the software
is brand-agnostic, enabling use on a variety of welding robots and
cobots. |

Automated Material Storage and Retrieval Solutions for Tube Lasers |
|
|
BLM Group USA, Novi, MI, has introduced a new automated tube storage and retrieval setup that fully integrates with the company’s tube laser systems, using special cassettes that can be loaded directly inside the machine. The storage system automatically retrieves the correct material and brings it to the machine for automatic loading. When jobs are complete, the machine automatically removes the used cassette with any remaining stock to be placed back into the tower, then automatically checks the stock level and updates the warehouse-management software. |

Faro Debuts Vantage Max Large-Volume 3D Measurement Systems |
|
|
Portable
inspection just became more precise and easier to use thanks to the
introduction by Faro technologies of the VantageS6 Max and VantageE6 Max
laser trackers, which company officials tout as enabling fabricators to
improve inspection and measurement productivity by 20 percent. As
explained to MetalForming during IMTS, the new laser trackers
offer large-volume 3D measurement up to 80 m, streamlining processes and
reducing inspection-cycle times while ensuring complete confidence in
the results. |
