3D Metal Printing a Bronze Ship Propeller
When a 50,000-metric-ton container ship, docked in Rotterdam, Netherlands, sustained damage to its $112,000 bronze propeller, the Rotterdam Additive Manufacturing Laboratory (RAMLAB) was able to 3D print a new bronze propeller, after which RAMLAB used a Faro ScanArm, a portable 3D measurement arm, to inspect and certify the 3D printed propeller. See how they did it.
