For the first time in two years, Formnext, the world’s largest additive manufacturing (AM) exhibition, kicked off this week in Frankfurt, Germany, and 3D Metal Printing is onsite gathering up the latest in new technologies on display. For those that couldn’t make the trip, there’s also a virtual component, Formnext Digital Days, set for November 30-December 1.
Electric and Stress Engineering Services, Inc. have signed a memorandum
of understanding to formalize their collaboration in large-format metal
AM. The partnership, note officials from both companies, is expected to
pay dividends in applications such as energy, power-generation, and
oil-and-gas industries as they realize potential benefits of AM for
large-scale metal-part fabrication such as shorter lead times, reduced
costs, digital inventory, design flexibility and high quality,
especially as compared to castings.
the cusp of full-blown AM industrialization, to maintain the momentum
gained during the pandemic, several crucial process and ecosystem
evolutions must be more widely adopted to lower the barriers to AM.
