United Technologies, Raytheon Reach Aerospace Mega-Merger

Friday, June 14, 2019
United Technologies Corp. announced that it has agreed to buy Raytheon Co., creating a $121-billion company, the largest-ever aerospace and defense merger. "The deal would reshape the competitive landscape by forming a conglomerate spanning commercial aviation and defense procurement. United Technologies provides, primarily, commercial plane makers with electronics, communications and other equipment, whereas Raytheon mainly supplies the U.S. government with military aircraft and missile equipment," writes Reuters' Harry Brumpton and Kate Duguid.
