Study Shows Manufacturing Worth Nearly One-Quarter of UK Economy

Manufacturing accounts for 23 percent of the United Kingdom’s GDP and 48 percent of UK exports, according to a study released by the London, England-based Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA). Read more.

The study also reports that for every $1.4 million manufacturing contributes to the UK’s GDP, it creates another $2.1 million elsewhere in the UK, and for every direct job within the sector, another 1.8 are supported elsewhere in the UK economy.
