A record number of Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) member companies from all across the country are participating in today’s 5th Annual Manufacturing Day. These companies are opening their manufacturing facilities for tours, information sessions and other activities as part of the nationwide effort to showcase the high-tech world of today’s American manufacturing sector.

“MFG Day is a celebration of who we are as American manufacturers and a chance to showcase our industry to the public,” said PMA President Bill Gaskin. “Manufacturing is growing in this country, supporting important sectors of our economy and creating jobs. We need to fill those jobs with a new generation of manufacturing workers who have the skills to keep our country competitive. Making manufacturing accessible to local students, teachers and families helps introduce these great careers and goes a long way to motivating these future industry leaders. I’m thrilled that so many PMA member companies are joining in this critically important effort.”

A partial list of participating U.S. and Canadian companies can be found here.

In conjunction with MFG Day, PMA and the PMA Educational Foundation launched a new website, the Center for Metalforming Careers (C4MC). The C4MC provides industry resources that highlight metalforming as an outstanding career option, as well as MFG Day resources to assist companies in hosting events to showcase the manufacturing industry.
