Monday’s Race to the Start
On Monday, Nov. 9, NASCAR champion Rusty Wallace stresses teamwork in his FABTECH keynote presentation, “Running a Winning Organization,” slated for 9 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom. As Wallace will explain, just as a driver relies on his team and pit crew, so, too, must an organization rely on the talent, experience and knowhow of its employees through teamwork.

This keynote starts the FABTECH engine, which will run on all cylinders as industry experts take the stage at 12:30 in the FABTECH Theater for a 1-hr. featured panel session, What Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing Means for the Metal Fabrication Industry. Business leaders in the additive-manufacturing industry will discuss the state of this technology, and where it is going. What are the new challenges? How should a company invest in the technology? How does this new type of manufacturing change the way we do business?

On the panel: Carl Dekker, president, Met-L-Flo, Inc.; Bob Markley, CEO, 3rd Dimension Industrial 3D Printing; Rick Neff, manager of market development, Cincinnati Inc.; and Bryan Crutchfield, managing director, Materialise USA.

Welcome to Chicago, for FABTECH 2015

North America's largest metalforming, fabricating, welding and finishing event begins today, at McCormick Place. More than 40,000 attendees are expected to visit the more than 1500 exhibiting companies. The action starts at 10:00 a.m.

Before making your way to the show, please download the FABTECH Mobile App, where you can search for exhibitors, navigate the show floor, receive alerts regarding show events and view and build your schedule. And, you can use the app to browse Chicago's dining options and stay connected via social media.

Visit the Komatsu booth S4331 in FABTECH's METALFORM technology area to watch servo-press technology in action. Digital technology replaces guesswork for die setup with repeatability in microns.

On the fabricating front in booth S514, Komatsu displays its Twister cutting machine and its Quick Gas option. Quickly change over from cutting 1/8- to 1-in. steel with fine plasma to oxyfuel cutting 2-in. plate with a mere 30-sec. nozzle change.

Corrosion Inhibitor Packaging Protects Metals in Storage, Shipment

Daubert Cromwell VCI on Display at FABTECH 2015

Rust removers and corrosion inhibitor (VCI) packaging for metal will be displayed at Daubert Cromwell Booth S4305 during FABTECH 2015 in Chicago. Technically trained salespeople will describe how VCI paper and film protect metals while in process, in storage and during shipment, with an actual parts bin as a typical application. VCI packaging is easy to use, non-hazardous, odorless and recyclable, providing a clean and dry alternative to expensive coatings and ineffective methods. Attendees also will see demonstrations of water-based, environmentally safe, rust removing liquids. Ask for a free poster, “Guidelines for Using VCI.”
