Day Two at FABTECH—We’re Just Getting Warmed Up
While you’re walking the show floor this morning or attending one of the several enlightening conference tracks, take a break at 12:30 and stop by the FABTECH Theater for a panel session titled, Enterprise Security Risks: Is Your Company Protected? An increasing number of companies are falling victim to internal and external threats, and the manufacturing industry is no exception. This session offers a comprehensive look at the threats manufacturers’ face, the security vulnerabilities they exploit, and the potential impact on an organization. Attendees will receive guidance on how to develop a security strategy that deploys the latest technologies available to protect their information and minimize disruption to customers, operations and productivity.

Set ’em Up, Knock’em Down
Tonight, kick back, relax and lace up your bowling shoes at FABTECH’s Second Annual Industry Night Party, from 5:30 to 7:30 at Lucky Strike Lanes, 322 E. Illinois St. in downtown Chicago. If bowling’s not your game, try some billiards. In fact, women’s billiard champion Jeanette Lee will be on hand to take your best shot, as well as perform some of her favorite trick shots and even sign autographs. Free shuttle-bus transportation is available from McCormick Place (South Transportation Lobby) beginning at 5:00. Here’s more details and ticket information.

Today's Videos

Visit the Komatsu booth S4331 in FABTECH's METALFORM technology area to watch servo-press technology in action. Digital technology replaces guesswork for die setup with repeatability in microns.

On the fabricating front in booth S514, Komatsu displays its Twister cutting machine and its Quick Gas option. Quickly change over from cutting 1/8- to 1-in. steel with fine plasma to oxyfuel cutting 2-in. plate with a mere 30-sec. nozzle change.

Visit Komatsu online at www.Komatsupress.com and www.Komatsuplasma.com.

Corrosion Inhibitor Packaging Protects Metals in Storage, Shipment

Daubert Cromwell VCI on Display at FABTECH 2015

Rust removers and corrosion inhibitor (VCI) packaging for metal will be displayed at Daubert Cromwell Booth S4305 during FABTECH 2015 in Chicago. Technically trained salespeople will describe how VCI paper and film protect metals while in process, in storage and during shipment, with an actual parts bin as a typical application. VCI packaging is easy to use, non-hazardous, odorless and recyclable, providing a clean and dry alternative to expensive coatings and ineffective methods. Attendees will also see demonstrations of water-based, environmentally safe, rust removing liquids. Ask for a free poster, “Guidelines for Using VCI.”

Conference Reports

PMA’s Stamping Tracks kick off at 8:00 this morning with concurrent sessions on stamping simulation (Eric Kam, AutoForm) and error proofing (Jim Finnerty, Wintriss). Then, beginning at 10:30, learn all about advanced high-strength steels from David Anderson of the Steel Market Development Institute.

This afternoon, from 1:30 to 3:30, sessions cover error-proofing case studies describing use of electronic sensors for die protection; how higher-strength steels impact pressroom equipment and die maintenance; die material coatings and tooling for stamping high-strength steels; and in-die process validation.

Here’s your complete Schedule at a Glance.
