Hydraulic Straightening Presses Headed to Aircraft Manufacturer

Wednesday, February 26, 2014
Greenerd Press & Machine Co., Nashua, NH, has delivered three hydraulic bench-type presses to a U.S. manufacturer of airplanes. The 40-ton C-frame presses (20 in. of daylight, 14-in. stroke) will be used to straighten wing-spar cords. Included is joystick ram control enabled by proportional valve technology, providing full and precise control of speed and force throughout the press stroke.  For enhanced safety, the press ram stops upon release of the joystick or of the accompanying palm-button control.
