Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Ohio Module Manufacturing Co. (OMMC), Toledo, OH, announced plans to invest $21 million to revive a 167,000-sq.-ft. Detroit plant it leased recently from ArvinMeritor. OMMC will hire 200 employees at the plant to build chassis modules for the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango assembled at the Chrysler Jefferson plant. A Michigan panel recently handed out $187 million in long-term tax credits to woo seven companies, including OMMC, to expand or locate in Michigan; OMMC’s tax credit is valued at $1.8 million over five years. OMMC is a subsidiary of Korea-based Hyundai Mobis.
