Armor-Plate Production Proves Lucrative for AZ Firm

LAI International, Inc., Scottsdale, AZ, a supplier to Boeing, Eaton, GE, Lockheed Martin and other Fortune 500 manufacturers, has won several contracts for manufacturing armor-plate assemblies. As part of its recent agreements, LAI received five awards for production of military-vehicle armor plating developed by the Army Research Lab, designed to stop penetrating-type explosives. LAI supplies precision components and subassemblies using processes such as hot forming, CNC machining, chemical milling and five-axis precision waterjet drilling.
