Faro Acquires Technology Rights for Digital Shape Scanners
September 1, 2008CommentsFaro Technologies, Inc., Lake Mary, FL, a manufacturer of portable, computerized measurement devices and software, acquired an exclusive license from Dimensional Photonics Intl., Inc. (DPI), Wilmington, MA, to develop, manufacture and sell DPI’s high-speed high-accuracy digital shape scanners. The transaction provides rights to more than 20 existing and pending patents related to DPI’s accordion fringe interferometry—proprietary technology that creates a 3D digital model of a physical object’s surface by immersing it in patterns of light.
