Dura Announces Restructuring Plans

Wednesday, April 4, 2007

Yesterday, Dura Automotive Systems, Inc., Rochester Hills, MI, announced that as a continuation of its 50-cubed strategic initiative, it proposes to close four manufacturing facilities: Brownstown, IN; Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada; Hannibal South, MO; and Selinsgrove, PA. Dura’s 50-cubed strategic initiative, launched in February 2006, established heightened performance goals in quality, worldwide efficiency and profitability. The initiative included a restructuring plan projected to result in the closure of as many as 10 manufacturing facilities worldwide by the end of 2007. As a result of yesterday’s announcements, the firm expects to move production, equipment and assembly lines to its facilities in Matamoros, Mexico; Gordonville and Milan, TN; Stockton, IL and Elkhart, IN.
