The Institute of Tribology and Coatings (ITC) has received a $68,000 grant from the State of Illinois to train students to transition from school to high-skilled advanced-technology jobs. With the grant, ITC will train students from two Illinois schools, Indian Valley Vocational Center and Waubonsee Community College, in information technology, technical support, advanced materials and advanced manufacturing in aerospace, automotive, transportation, energy and other sectors. The grant is part of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s High Technology School-to-Work Initiative and is administered by the Illinois Dept. of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
