Thursday, February 16, 2006

Included in the General Motors announcement of a few days ago to invest $545 million in five Michigan assembly and component plants is a $32-million investment to update the hydroforming equipment in its Pontiac metal-stamping plant. The plant hydroforms components for the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky roadsters. Other investments include $152 in the GM Ypsilanti transmission plant, and $138 million to expand the body shop of the Lansing Grand River assembly plant.
