Minster Named Exclusive N.A. Distributor
for Amada Gap Presses

Friday, April 16, 2004

The Minster Machine Company, Minster, OH, has formed a strategic relationship with Amada America, Inc., Buena Park, CA, to become the exclusive provider of Amada one- and two-point gap-frame presses, from 45 to 500 metric-ton capacity, for the North American market. “This is a nice strategic fit for Minster,” MetalForming was told in an exclusive interview with David Winch, Minster vice president of sales, marketing and customer service, “because Amada does not build straight-side presses, which have been our focus, and at the same time we need to continue to offer a competitive gap-press line to our customer base. We decided that rather than invest in enhancing our existing line of gap presses, the distribution relationship with Amada was a better choice.” Minster will provide installation, startup and service for its customers of the Amada presses, and its service group will handle warranty assistance. All of the necessary training has been completed, and the Minster website already includes a list of available stock machines.. “This strategic marketing relationship represents growth for Minster similar to that from our ongoing relationship with Bihler for its slideforming machines,” Winch tells MetalForming. “It fills another important product niche for us. Further down the road, we hope to explore other opportunities with Amada, perhaps performing some value-added work to enhance the product offering, and exploring opportunities to meet the needs of metalformers in Asia.”
