ZF AG has announced plans to construct a suspension-components manufacturing plant in Newton, NC. The $30-million 150,000-sq.-ft. plant is expected to open in spring 2005 and employ about 200 people. “This new facility is a key part of our suspension-components strategy in North America,” says Jim Stacey, president and COO of ZF Lemforder Corp. Car Chassis Technology Division. The company also is expanding facilities in Tuscaloosa, AL, and Guadalajara, Mexico, as well as its technical center in Northville, MI.
