New Planning and Scheduling Software

Wednesday, July 30, 2003

Crediting its new software system with shaving a day and a half from its planning and scheduling cycle, metalforming company Olson Intl. Ltd. says it has eliminated waste such as overtime, premium airfreight and other factors affecting its bottom line. Olson, with plants in Lombard, IL, and Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, employs more than 500 people, supplying precision metal stampings and assemblies to the automotive, appliance and electronics industries. A long-time user of Mapics SyteLine ERP software from Mapics, Inc., it recently implemented Mapics Advanced Planning and Scheduling software that it says “synchronizes manufacturing operations using orders, materials and capacity to obtain precise delivery dates.” Log on to www.mapics.com to learn more.
