Tower Automotive has announced a host of organizational changes including consolidation, leadership appointments and relocation of its headquarters. The company’s two North American products groups, Lower Vehicle Structures & Modules and Body & Suspension Structures, has been consolidated into one regional unit, led by Tom Pitser. Pitser had headed the Body & Suspension Structures Group. As for management appointments, Kathy Johnston has been named Enterprise Leader for Global Purchasing & Manufacturing Strategy. She is currently serving as interim chief financial officer and had been Enterprise Leader for Planning, Governance & Business Development. In addition, Thomas Werle has been named Enterprise Technology Leader, where he will oversee global process and product development activities as well as technology transfer within Tower Automotive. He had been Technology Leader for Tower Automotive in Europe. Lastly, the company relocated its headquarters from Grand Rapids to 27175 Haggerty Rd. in Novi, MI. The move is designed to better connect Tower Automotive management with the company’s largest technical center, also in Novi, which grew due to its incorporation of the Tower technical center that had been located in Rochester Hills, MI.
