Salvagnini Showcases New Technology

Friday, June 28, 2002

Salvagnini America, Inc. used a recent open house to unveil new fabrication systems and explain its sales and service efforts in North America. The open house comes amid a company initiative to increase its presence in the U.S. metalforming and fabricating markets. To that end, the company introduced new technology including the RoboFormer, a robotic bending cell. Key to the system is the software, which integrates cell components. Vicente Undurraga, CEO, in his welcoming remarks, cited Salvagnini’s in-house software capabilities as key to all of the company’s products, enabling them to seamlessly mesh system components and readily connect to other Salvagnini systems. Undurraga also introduced William E. Bossard as vice president of sales and marketing. In discussing Salvagnini efforts in North America, Undurraga cited the Hamilton, OH, headquarters and showroom, built in 2000, and the recent addition of a training center on-site. The company, last year, opened Salvagnini America West, a branch in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA; is planning to add a Canadian branch; and has just opened a tool-manufacturing center at Hamilton. Previously, the company provided tooling from its headquarters in Italy. For more, visit www.salvagnini.com.
