Wabash Alloys To Shutter NY Alloy Plant

Friday, February 22, 2002

Wabash Alloys, LLC, Wabash, IN, in the final stage of a plan to consolidate manufacturing operations, cut costs and enhance customer service, announced the closure of its Syracuse, NY, aluminum-alloy production plant effective February 28. The plant produces alloy from recycled aluminum scrap. As the closing completes restructuring at Wabash, the company “is now better able to improve efficiency, utilization and our focus on customer service and quality,” according to Bruce A. Warshauer, president. “Customer deliveries and volumes won’t be affected by this necessary action.” Wabash produces aluminum alloys and steel-deoxidation products for the steel, automotive and appliance industries.
