The results of the November Business Conditions Report, released by the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), reflect the first forecast of optimism among member manufacturers since the September 11 attacks. Twenty-four percent of 198 responding manufacturing companies feel economic activity will increase in coming months, a 13-percent increase over October results. Only 23 percent predicted a further-downward turn, a 26-percent decrease from October. In addition, respondents expect a 35-percent increase in orders during the next three months, a much more positive outlook over October numbers. PMA makes full report results available to PMA members. Get more information.
