Coldwater Machine Establishes Solid-State Joining Center

Technology for joining lightweight and dissimilar materials will be the focus of a new Solid State Joining Center hosted by Coldwater Machine Co., Coldwater, OH. The new unit includes a weld-development lab currently equipped with five friction-welding systems for testing and low-volume production. Work is focused on the increased use of aluminum, magnesium and composites in the automotive industry.
